 | Our main project at this time is to landscape the median on Broadway (Hwy
340), from the west side of the Colorado River to the Mayfield Drive
intersection.
|
 | We are seeking donations and have the support of the City Council, CDOT
(Colorado Dept of Transportation), and many contractors, businesses, and
individuals to rename Broadway to Broadway Memorial Parkway. This is an
expensive undertaking and requires the City, State, County, and us to all work
together. Donations will be recognized at the Broadway Memorial Park that will
be on the south side of the new Albertsons.
|
 | Each May the Council plants two large beds of petunias at the intersection
of First Street and Grand Avenue. We also give awards and place a sign in
front of businesses that have outstanding landscaping.
|
 | In the Spring of each year we support a "Neighbor help neighbor" campaign
to encourage neighbors to work together in their block, subdivision, or
housing area to clean-up, paint-up, and fix-up, and have a good time and get
to know each other while they are working together.
|
 | The Council also helped beautify several areas at the top of the Fifth
Street hill in Orchard Mesa. We helped pick-up litter on highways and
sponsored two Tommy Dorsey concerts for money-making events. We are open for
new ideas and would like your support.
|
 | We meet on the first Tuesday of the month at 4 PM at the Colorado State
University Cooperative Extension office in Orchard Mesa. Please come and
join us!
